How to use Windows Credential management to automatically log on to a local area network

Windows has the ability to automatically access passwords without a password after the first time the computer folder is shared within the domain system because its Credential manager is functioning. Use the Credential Manager to store credentials, which can be used to log on to a user name and password on a Web site or another computer on the network. By storing credentials, Windows enables users to automatically log on to a Web site or other computer. The credentials are saved in a special folder on your computer called the vault. Windows and programs, such as Web browsers, can safely automatically provide credentials in the repository to other computers and Web sites.

1. Delete Invalid credentials

Enter the automatic Login Credential Management window through the control Panel → all Control Panel items → credential Manager. Click the small arrow under Windows credentials to expand the list of existing credential parameters to see details of the Windows credentials currently in use, including URLs, user names, passwords, permanent, and so on. Now that the existing credentials are invalidated, we need to remove the invalid credentials and then build the credentials again. Click the "Remove from Vault" Text link to delete the original credentials (Figure 1).

2. New Windows credentials

Click the "Add Windows Credentials" text link after "Windows credentials" in Figure 1, and in the next dialog window, fill in the correct internal IP address, username, and password. In the Internet or network Address box, type the name of the computer on your network that you want to access, which can be a NetBIOS name (such as SERVER1) or a DNS name (for example, server1.fabrikam.com). The user name is generally the "Domain name username" form. When you are finished, click the OK button (Figure 2).

After the credentials have been reset, the system is restarted and the shared folder is tried again, and the problem is generally resolved.

Small tip:

If you are sharing folders in a domain-free LAN with only groups of users, the original mapped automatic network folder cannot be accessed, delete the shared folder shortcut, or cancel the shared folder network map by clicking the right mouse button on the existing mapped drive and choosing disconnect (Figure 3). Then, through the network, re-locate the computer and the shared folder, enter the correct username and password to log in, and select the next login "Remember my credentials" option (Figure 4).
