CPU Total Cores = number of physical CPUs * Number of cores per physical CPU
Total logical CPUs = number of physical CPUs * Number of cores per physical CPU * Number of hyper-threads

1. View CPU information (model number):

[Email protected] ~]# Cat/proc/cpuinfo | grep name | Cut-f2-d: | Uniq-c
Intel (R) Xeon (r) CPU e5-2620 v3 @ 2.40GHz

2, check the number of physical CPUs:

[Email protected] ~]# cat/proc/cpuinfo| grep "Physical ID" | Sort| uniq| Wc-l
2

3. Look at the number of cores in each physical CPU (both):

[Email protected] ~]# cat/proc/cpuinfo| grep "CPU Cores" | Uniq
CPU Cores:6

4. View the number of logical CPUs

[Email protected] ~]# cat/proc/cpuinfo| grep "Processor" | Wc-l
24

This shows that the CPU supports Hyper-threading
