How to view Oracle execution plans

Method 1

Step 1: log on to SQL/plus to execute the command (no sequence is available)

Set Time on; (Note: Enable time display)

Set autotrace on; (Description: Enable Automatic Analysis Statistics and display the running results of SQL statements)

Set autotrace traceonly; (Description: Enable Automatic Analysis Statistics without displaying the running results of SQL statements)

Select one of the two

Step 2: Enter the SQL statement you want to view for execution

Method 2

Run the explain Plan for select * From g_gambling Gamb where Gamb. Active = 1

Select * from table (dbms_xplan.display) to view the Oracle execution plan.
