There may be a problem setting up a Presenter view before, but there has been a lot of improvement in PowerPoint 2013. Just connect the monitor and PowerPoint will automatically set up. In Presenter view, you can see your comments while you are demonstrating, and the audience sees only your slides.
At the bottom of the PowerPoint slide window, click Slide Show View .
Tip Now, if you are using PowerPoint on a single monitor and want to display presenter view, in slide show view, in the lower-left corner of the control bar, click
, and then click Show Presenter View .
You can perform the following actions in Presenter view:
To move to the previous or next slide, click the previous or next one.
To see all the slides in your presentation, click View All Slides .
Tip You will see thumbnails of all the slides in your presentation (as shown below), so that you can easily jump to a specific slide during the show.

To see the details of a slide in close proximity, click Enlarge Slide , and then point to the section you want to view.
To point to a slide or to write on a slide show, click pen and laser pen tools .

To hide or unhide the current slide in your presentation, click Darken or Restore slide show .
The presenter view is automatically extended to the projector or external monitor, but you can switch the monitor.
tip To manually determine which computer will display your notes in Presenter view and which computer will be audience oriented (slide show view), on the taskbar and at the top of Presenter view, click Show Settings , and then click Swap Presenter View and slide show .
