How Visual Studio 2013 prevents IIS Express from shutting down after you stop debugging a Web program

When you run the Web application in the previous version of Visual Studio and stop debugging, IIS Express continues to run.

However, in the Visual Studio 2013 default settings, you may notice that when you run (F5) your Web app, the Visual Studio debugger (debugger) launches your Web app in IIS Express. When you stop Debugging (SHIFT+F5), IIS Express will be shut down. You'll see a similar scenario in your browser (ie, IE will close your browser window or tag directly)

How does Visual Studio 2013 prevent IIS Express from shutting down after you stop debugging a Web program?

In previous versions of Visual Studio, the debugger enable Edit and Continue option in a new web App project was disabled by default. In Visual Studio 2013, the re-election item is available (selected) by default.

When "Enable Edit and Continue" is checked, you will see that IIS Express starts when you run the Web App. When you stop debugging, it will also be closed.

You can disable enable Edit and Continue in the project properties (click Web Project Right-word ' properties ') to get the results you want, as shown in:
