When we are running some large-scale software, or just quit the game, often prompt "Your virtual memory is too low" hint, this situation is generally: one: Your physical memory is relatively small, running large software is difficult; second: You run a lot of windows or games when the physical memory allocation is not over. When this happens, our system will use our hard disk space as virtual memory to perform some operations, then how to set up our virtual memory, here I have my personal experience to introduce you, I hope to help you, of course, this is not really a solution to the memory problem.
The general principle of virtual memory settings: The minimum value of virtual memory is 1 to 1.5 times times the physical memory, and the maximum virtual memory is 2 to 2.5 times times the physical memory.
First step: My Computer right-click Properties
The second step: "Advanced" in the property interface, "MB of memory" in the lower right corner is the physical memory, and we calculate the virtual memory value based on this value.
Step three: Advanced settings in the performance below
Fourth step: Click "Advanced"
Fifth step: You can see the bottom virtual memory, we click the "Change" button "
Sixth step: This is the interface with no virtual memory set
Seventh step: Virtual memory is generally set on the hard disk outside of the C drive, choose your remaining space larger hard disk, then I chose the e-drive, and then click on the following custom size
Eighth step: After entering the minimum and maximum values, click the Settings button in the lower right corner.
Nineth Step: A prompt to restart the computer will pop up, click OK
Tenth step: We need to confirm restart the computer, if there are other programs running can point "no".
The next time we restart the computer, we can follow the above steps to see that the virtual memory has been set up successfully.
Virtual memory settings are only for some low-memory users, general physics in the presence of more than one G users do not have to set up.
Humbly also teaches you a way to let the system manage the size of virtual memory
First step: Click on the original virtual memory drive, then click "No paging File" below, then click "Settings" on the right side to cancel the original settings.
The second step: Select the "Drive" you want to set, the "System management size" below the point, and the application will be determined all the way.
Once set up, the next time you restart your computer will take effect.
If it is a WIN7 system, then right-click My Computer, properties, advanced system Settings, and then click Change
Remove the option to automatically manage, select a disk with a larger free space to place the virtual memory file, and then restart the computer after the change.
