Virtual private network, referred to as VPN, is a virtual network which belongs to a remote access technology. Most enterprises will be applied to the VPN to achieve the sharing of resources among employees, but how to set up the VPN? Now let's share with you how to set up this VPN in XP system.
Click "Start" in the lower left corner of the desktop, then click "Control Panel"
Click on "Network and Internet Connection"
Click "Create a network connection to your work location"
Select "Virtual Private network Connection" and click "Next" button
Enter the name of the connection in the input field, use "Ustcvpn" here, and then click the "Next" button
Select "Do not dial initial connection", then click "Next" button
Enter the VPN server address "vpn1.ustc.edu.cn" (Education network users please use "vpn2.ustc.edu.cn"), and then click "Next" button
It is recommended to select "Add a shortcut to this connection on my desktop" and click the "Finish" button
Back to network and Internet connection, click on "Network Connection"
You can see the connection you just established in the virtual private network
Double-click the name of the connection or the shortcut on the desktop to open the Connection window, enter a username and password, and then click the "Connect" button to connect to the VPN
