HP 5100 print out in Windows 10 is a black box workaround

Office computers have been using Windows 7 Enterprise and have recently reinstalled the operating system for Windows 10 Professional Workstation edition, but there is a problem with the selected installation file (version number: 1709,16299.98), which does not support system-managed sharing (no hidden shares such as C $), Cannot be backed up with Veeam. Later, the installation image (1709,16299.248), installed Windows 10 Enterprise Edition, which has a full network of functions, with C $ and other hidden shares, can support Veeam backup. Decide to use this version. Similarly, this version of Windows 10 Enterprise Edition uses the serial number of the professional Workstation edition to upgrade to the Windows 10 Professional Workstation version, which is used by my home computer.

The Unit office uses the HP 5100 printer, which uses the PCI-E-to-LPT interface card. Use the Driver Wizard to install the driver (no power to the printer at that time).

After two days, when you want to use the printer, turn on the power, the Windows 10 operating system automatically installs the driver, but the print is black box, 1 shows.

The current computer operating system is a 64-bit Windows 10 Enterprise Edition, as shown in 2.

This problem occurs because of a problem with the driver that comes with Windows 10, which is resolved by replacing the Windows default driver with the HP-supplied driver.

(1) Search for HP 5100 drivers on the "Drive Home" website, as shown in 3.

(2) Use "HP HP LaserJet 5100 Printer PCL5 driver 5.1.0.77 version for winxp-64/2003-64/vista-64/2008-64/win7-64 (released July 30, 2010)" The download link is http://drivers.mydrivers.com/drivers/385_154195.htm. After downloading, unzip the expansion drive as shown in 4.

(3) in Computer Management → Device Manager, you can see the HP 5100 printer driver installed in Windows 10, as shown in 5.

(4) In all settings → devices → printers and scanners, open the HP 5100 Properties page that you have installed, and in the Advanced tab, click the New Driver button, as shown in 6.

(5) In the Printer Driver Options dialog box, click Install from disk, as shown in 7.

(6) in the "Install From Disk" dialog box, click the "Browse" button, as shown in 8.

(7) Browse to select the extracted printer driver in Figure 4, as shown in hpc5100u.inf,9.

(8) Return to the "Install from Disk" dialog box, click the "OK" button, as shown in 10.

(9) Return to the Printer Driver selection dialog box, the list shows the HP 5100 printer driver added, as shown in 11.

(10) In the Completing the Add Printer Driver Wizard dialog box, click the Finish button, as shown in 12.

(11) Return to the Printer Properties dialog box, click the OK button, as shown in 13.
