HTML 5 wins: XHTML2 declared premature

Since the publication of the draft Code for HTML 5 and XHTML 2, there has been considerable controversy. HTML 5 is a next-generation Web specification that is drafted by several browser vendors, including Google, Mirosoft, Mozilla, Opera, and Apple. XHTML 2 was drafted and submitted by the Working Group. HTML 5 and XHTML 2 were eventually accepted as candidates , and since HTML 5 and XHTML 2 became the two competing standards. But recently browser vendors have shown unprecedented enthusiasm for HTML 5, making XHTML 2 a bit awkward.

Shortly after the Google I/O conference, Google demonstrated a series of web-based HTML 5 technologies, including offline storage, user interaction, 2D painting, and so on, and expressed the need to increase support for HTML 5 in adroid and Chrome in the future. Microsoft also said it would gradually add support for HTML 5 in the next browser. The online comparison of HTML 5 and XHTML 2 has a lot of good articles, all worthy of reference, here I do not want to say a lot of technical things, just talk about the HTML 5 and XHTML 22 standards of understanding.

A recent announcement by the XHTML2 that the contract between the two will not be renewed after the end of the year. This means that the world-class has stopped developing XHTML2 and has instead strongly supported HTML5 's rule-making.

The simultaneous presence of XHTML2 and HTML5 is confusing to many web developers, because the two standards are incompatible, which means you can't use the other one if you choose one, and they're all web-standard! In the case of a standard, the problem of cross-browser of the light web has already made the Web developers have a headache, even the language also appears two kinds, it is unacceptable.

But all this has changed--XHTML2 has been declared dead. I think this is a wise choice, and of course a choice that has no choice. Why is XHTML1 being affirmed? It's a bright spot because it lets messy HTML4 code have new writing and interpretation specifications, but ultimately, the web needs more of a feature-rich web language than the rules. A Web page that does not conform to any standard can do all the same, but an HTML page that is completely web-compliant without any functionality does nothing. That's the difference between HTML5 and XHTML2. HTML5 to follow the XHTML1 standards and improve a lot of features, the future of the web more colorful, and XHTML2, just add some constraints to the developers of the rules. It's doomed it won't last.

In addition, browser vendor support is important. Microsoft, Mozilla, and Google are all supporters of HTML5, and XHTML2 is the result. No matter what the standard is, it will eventually run on the browser, so it is not a good standard to get a browser-supported standard. this, on the other hand, shows how fragile the show is!
