The competition for flash and HTML5 on Desktop products may continue, but flash on mobile products has ended. Adoble also gave a more detailed explanation after announcing that it has stopped its mobile platform flash R & D work: HTML5 has been widely supported, and Flash will not be a necessity.

Adobe Developer relations director Mike? Mikechambers explained on his blog today why the company has to abandon the development of the mobile flash version. Currently, HTML5 has almost been widely supported by mobile browsers. Adobe recognizes that flash is lagging behind the times, and the addition of applications makes browser-based Flash not so important. In addition, Flash is also facing the need for andorid system fragmentation. It is time-consuming and labor-consuming to optimize different versions. However, Adobe did not mention that all Apple devices do not support flash.

Adobe said that the mobile version of air will continue to develop, which is actually a continuation of flash. The company will continue to support the use of air on the mobile platform.

At the same time, zdnet columnist Mary-Jo Foley wrote today, as the biggest opponent of Adobe Flash, Microsoft's Silverlight browser plug-in will be updated after version 5 (Silverlight 5 RTM will be released before the end of November ), however, it is unclear how long it will take for Microsoft to support the product. Microsoft did not respond to the message.

The reason for stopping the Silverlight product is unknown, but I believe that the advent of HTML5 and new technologies such as Windows 8 and ie10 have no value for Silverlight.

Currently, the official version of siverlight 5 can only run on Windows. The open-source community has some compatibility solutions that allow cross-platform Silverlight content.
