At present, experts from the Huawei 2012 lab are developing cutting-edge technologies for 5G wireless communication. Huawei also actively participates in and promotes extensive cooperation in the industry ecosystem.
At the Metis Project Conference held in Munich, Germany from October 20 to October 20, more than 140 top research experts from the industry, universities and research institutions gathered to discuss breakthrough technologies of 5G wireless communication. Huawei is the largest organizer of the Conference.
The METIS project is a large-scale comprehensive 5g research project funded by the European Commission and belongs to the seventh Framework (FP7) of the EU's scientific research investment ). Metis has 28 Partners, including communication equipment vendors (Huawei, Ericsson, Alcatel Lucent, Nokia Siemens Networks, and Nokia ), operators (German Telecom, Spanish telecom, French Telecom, Italian Telecom, and Japanese DoCoMo), academic institutions, and car manufacturers (BMW ). The total investment of this project is as high as 0.27 billion euros, including 0.16 billion euro Alliance Sponsorship Funds. At Metis, Huawei is responsible for leading the research and design of 5G wireless air interface link technology.
