IBM_DS5020 disk array for raid, hot standby and attaching the disk array to the server, ibm_ds5020raid
During work, the hard disk in the server disk array is damaged and the new hard disk is replaced, but some sectors cannot be read. In this case, RAID 5 and hot backup are re-performed for the disk array and the disk array is mounted on the server.
I. Preparations
1: Install the ibm ds Storage Manager 10 client software in your laptop and download it from the Internet (32-bit, 64-bit). The object is a disk array of the IBM_DS5020 model.
2: Use A network cable to directly connect the controller of the laptop and disk array backend. the disk array backend has two controllers, A and B. The corresponding default IP address is as follows:
IP address of Controller A: 192.168.128.101
IP address of controller B: 192.168.128.102
In this case, you also need to set the IP address of the same network segment in your notebook, for example, 192.168.128.19. Make sure that you can access A. the IP address of controller B indicates that the network is connected.
3: because the system is re-built, you need to clear the configuration information in the previous step, such as storage subsystem and logical drive, after clearing the network cable, you are advised to insert it into controller B to perform the same steps.
Ii. Configure related information.
I chose RAID5 and left a disk for hot backup, for example:
Next, I configured two volumes. This is the first volume, for example:
The two configured volumes will be automatically initialized. Wait slowly. Remember that the two volumes were initialized after nearly four hours, for example:
Next, configure hot backup, for example:
In the above steps, the disk is initialized and created, and hot backup is performed. Next, you need to create a host group, that is, configure the corresponding server, for example:
The last step is to add a disk array to the disk management on the server, for example:
After all the above steps are completed, the old raid information is cleared, raid and hot backup are re-performed, the server is associated with the disk array, and then the disk array is used on the server.
