IE: Temporary folder Quest _ Registration Form

In Windows, temporary files are available everywhere, IE also has its own temporary folder. Here, let's look at the temporary folder for IE.

　　Know the IE Temp folder

When you enter the Web site in the IE address and return, ie first in your hard drive to find the corresponding Web page content, if found on the content of the Web page, displayed in the Browse window, and then connected to the site of the server read the updated content, and displayed. If you can not find, ie directly to connect to the server, download the Web page content on the service, displayed in the Browsing window, the content of the Web page stored in the computer's hard disk. This default save location is the C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files folder. This is the temporary folder for IE, which stores the content of the Web page you have recently browsed.

　　Set IE Temp folder

Because the IE temporary folder stores the content of the pages you have viewed, you can improve your browsing speed later. However, the default settings for this folder may not be the optimal setting for your computer, so you can change these settings to the best effect. The method is as follows:

1. Click the tools \internet option command and the Internet Options dialog box pops up.

2, click the General tab, under Internet Temporary files, click the Settings button, the system pops up the Settings dialog box (Figure 1).

3. Under Internet temporary folders, drag the slider under "used disk space" to change the amount of disk space that can be used by the IE temporary folder, and if you have enough hard disk space, you might want to set the value larger, otherwise you should set it smaller. This value is set to a large size to increase browsing speed.

If your computer has multiple partitions, you can specify other folders to store ie temporary files by clicking the "Move Folder" button, the system pops up the Browse for Folder dialog box, and after you locate and click the new temporary folder, click OK. Of course, you must restart your computer before you use the new location to store ie temporary files.

4, click "OK" button, and then close each dialog box.

　　Clear Temporary files

The presence of IE temporary files can actually improve browsing speed, but these temporary files occupy disk space while exposing your online whereabouts. If you want to delete these temporary files for IE, use the following procedure:

1, click the Tools \internet Options command, the system pops up the Internet Options dialog box.

2, click the General tab, under Internet Temporary files, click the Delete File button, the system pops up the Delete file dialog box.

3. If you want to delete offline temporary files at the same time, select the Remove all offline content check box and click OK (Figure 2).

1, click Close System on the Start menu, and the system pops up the Shut Down Windows dialog box.

2, select the restart computer and switch to MS-DOS mode, and click OK.

3, type the following command at a DOS prompt, and press ENTER after each line:

CD c:\windows\tempor~1\content.ie5 (if you are not using IE5 or IE6, but IE4, please change this command to:

CD c:\windows\tempor~1
del index.dat
Exit

When you re-enter windows, the system will re-create a "index.dat" file in the IE temporary folder. Since there is no index of any IE temp files to record, it is very small.
