IE7/IE8 access to pseries server ASMI Solution

Many friends who use IE7/IE8 may find that when using IE7/IE8 to access the asmi of the pseries server, although you can ping the address of the HMC Management port, however, no matter how you refresh the page, you cannot access the ASMI interface. This page will never be displayed. However, if you change to another browser, such as Firefox or IE6, it will be okay.

Why is this happening? If you think about it, you can find the problem. Since IE6 can be accessed, IE7/IE8 can improve the interface and some functions compared with IE6, the biggest improvement is the recognition of webpage elements. Therefore, IE7/IE8 that IE6 can access is not a problem, but may differ in the display effect of some webpages at most. In this case, the cause of this situation must be a setup problem. The solution is actually very simple. We only need to compare the settings of IE6 and IE7/IE8. Therefore, we found that TLS 1.0 is enabled by default in the advanced settings of IE7/IE8 (you can refer to the TLS explanation here), while IE6 is not enabled by default. We try to disable the default TLS 1.0 in the advanced settings of Internet Options, and then access ASMI, you will find that the long-overdue certificate prompt appears, click "yes" and you will see the ASMI logon interface.
