Iis 7.0 http status code

When you try to access content on a server that uses HTTP to run Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0, IIS 7.0 returns a digital code indicating the response status. The HTTP status code is recorded in IIS logs. In addition, the HTTP status code may be displayed in the client browser.

 

The HTTP status code may indicate whether the request is successful or failed. The HTTP status code may also display the exact cause of an unsuccessful request.

HTTP status code
This section describes the HTTP status code used by IIS 7.0.

Note that this article does not list every possible HTTP status code, which is set according to the HTTP specification. This article includes only HTTP status code that can be sent in IIS 7.0. The custom Internet server API (ISAPI) filter or custom HTTP module can set its own HTTP status code.
1 xx-information
These HTTP status codes indicate temporary responses. The client computer receives a regular response before receiving one or more 1 xx response client computers.

IIS 7.0 uses the following informative HTTP status code:
100 continue.
101 switch protocol.
2 xx-success
These HTTP status codes indicate that the server successfully accepts the request.

IIS 7.0 uses the following successful HTTP status code:
200 OK. The client request has been successfully completed.
201 create.
202 accepted.
203 no authoritative information.
204 no content.
205 Reset content.

3 xx-redirection
These HTTP status codes indicate that the client browser must take more actions to complete the request. The client browser may request different pages on the server. Or the client browser may need to use the proxy server to repeat the request.

IIS 7.0 uses the following code to redirect HTTP Status:
301 move permanently.
302 move objects.
304 not modified.
307 temporary redirection.
