Yesterday we demonstrated the installation of Oracle database 10g under Windows, and today we look at the installation of Oracle client and plsql developer software.
First download the Oracle client clients as:http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/ after extracting the 10201winsoft.html, generate the client's folder and double-click the Setup.exe icon inside.
There are four types of installation, Instantclient (instant client), administrator, runtime, and custom. Here we select Admin, click Next to continue.
At this point you need to specify the name of the database client and the full path of the installation, here we choose the default, click Next to continue. (The Bear is the D-disk, which drive letter according to their own needs)
Now go to the same product prerequisites Check tab as the Oracle 10g Software installation, where our overall review structure is: Pass, click Next to continue (if there is a problem, be sure to carefully troubleshoot the cause of the error).
Now there is an installation profile, including the specific installation path of the client software, the product language, the space required for installation, and the client components that are specifically installed, and then click Install to confirm the error.
Once the software is installed, the Configuration Assistant option is also entered, and the client's configuration assistant only needs to configure the network section.
If no special needs, choose to perform a typical configuration, click Next to continue
Here, the Oracle 10g client software is fully installed, so let's take a look at the installation and configuration of the Plsql developer tool.
First download the Plsql Developer tool to install from the Internet (currently there are more than 8.0 mature version of the Chinese cracked version, download and install it). Double-click Pl-sql-dev-8-setup.exe to install.
The installation process is very simple, choose I agree (i Agree), according to the actual situation to choose their own installation path, click Next.
After the installation is complete, click Pl-sql-dev-8-chinese.exe to select the installation path, click Start to conform to the Chinese.
At this point double-click the Pl-sql-dev-8-keygen.exe keygen to register, open Plsql Developer software (temporarily without link). Select Register in Help and copy to the registry based on the Registrar's information.
After the registration is successful, the following icon is displayed
Now that the Plsql Developer tool is fully installed, let's configure it below.
First, in the client installation directory under the NETWORK directory under the admin directory, create a file named Tnsnames.ora, (for example: D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client\NETWORK\ Admin to create Tnsnames.ora), Tnsnames.ora as a listener, defining one or more network services. The specific contents are as follows:
Where address includes 3 options, PROTOCOL: Default protocol TCP, Host: Link host IP address, port: ports, default 1521, in standalone, there is generally only one address option, if RAC is configured, 2 listeners are used, Default from Listener1. At this point we start Enterprise Manager Console for the Oracle 10g client.
Since you have configured Tnsnames.ora, select Add locally. Then open the Plsql developer tool again, in the database selection, we have just added the database has been shown, here we use the Sys login to look at (note that the connection method is SYSDBA).
Once connected, let's create a new SQL window and enter a few query statements to see if the database is working properly.
As shown, our Oracle 10g client clients and Plsql developer are fully installed and configured to enjoy the new experience Oracle brings us ^_^
