Now select all the shapes that you created from step 16 to the shape you created in step 15, and then group (CTRL + G) to build the group.

Making shoelaces

18. With the Pen tool, create two curved paths, as shown in the following figure. Next, we will create the laces on the basis of two newly created curved path segments.

Continue working with the Pen tool (P) and create an object, as shown in Figure 3, when the new object is drawn and filled with a linear gradient, as Figure 4.

19. Continue using the Pen tool, as shown in the new two objects, and make a gradient fill.

Next, select the red and green curve paths that you created in step 18 and delete them.

20. Now, as shown in the following image, repeat the previous step, making another part of the shoelace based on the previous shoelace steps.
