Tutorial sharing:
Westerners use red, green, and white colors for Christmas. During the Christmas period, family members will use Christmas colors to decorate their families. There are Christmas flowers and Christmas candles in red. The green is the Christmas tree. It is the main ornament of Christmas. It is decorated with tower-like evergreen trees such as fir and Cypress. Colorful lights, gifts, and paper flowers are hung on them, and some are lit with Christmas candles.

The procedure is as follows:
1. Create the basic shape of the Christmas tree

First use the Pen Tool)

Roughly draw the basic shape of the Christmas tree, and fill the graph with green to dark green gradient, shape and color as shown in Figure 1.

Select the menu command "Effect & rarr; distortion and Transformation & rarr; roughening" (Effect & rarr; Distort & Transform & rarr; Roughen), as shown in figure 2.

Figure 2 "roughening"
In the "Roughen" dialog box, set "Size" to 5%, "details" to 100, and select "sharp" (Detail) in the "points" area ), select the "Preview" check box to observe the changes in the tree shape in real time, as shown in figure 3. Then click "OK.

2. Create an Art Brush)

Now we need to create a new Art Brush to draw the branches of the Christmas tree. Use the Pen Tool to plot the path shown in 1 in figure 4, fill in the dark green, and then apply the same Roughen effect as shown in figure 3, the following figure shows the appearance of 2 in figure 4. Use Selection Tool)

Hold down the Alt key and drag the path, copy the same path, and scale it down a little in the vertical direction to change its color to a lighter green than the original dark green, the result is shown in 3 in figure 4. Repeat this step, copy a path, and scale down and change the color to a lighter green color in the vertical direction. The result is shown in figure 4. In this way, three overlapping paths are obtained.

Select the three paths and drag them to the "paint Board" (Brushes Library). In the "New Brush" (New Brush) in the dialog box, select New Art paint Brush, as shown in figure 5, and click OK to create a New Art paint Brush.

3. Make Christmas branches
Use the Pen Tool to create some Bending Paths and set the stroke color to green. Select the path and click Art paint 1 in the Brushes Library to apply the previously created Art paint to these paths. The transparency (Opacity) is reduced to 40-50%, so that the art brush is mixed with the tree. For larger branches, you can apply a larger brush size (Stroke Weight). The smaller the brush, the smaller the branches. Try to use different transparency and paint brush sizes to create branches that look more natural.

4. Make big lights
Use the Ellipse Tool to draw Christmas lights of different sizes and variations, place a few on the top of the tree, put a few on the back of the tree, and put some on the branches, the effect is shown in figure 8.

5. Make a scatter brush for a lantern.
The Christmas tree does not look gorgeous yet. You need to add more small decorative lights. Because the number of colored lights is large, "scatter paint" is used to create them. As shown in Figure 9, draw some small colored balls (the ones shown on the left) and drag them to the Brushes Library, create a New Scatter Brush ).

Note that these colored lights appear randomly based on the random values set in the dialog box shown in Figure 10. You can double-click the Brushes Library at any time) the scatter paint brush in changes these settings. If you want more lights, you can create another path and apply the same scatter paint.
