Part One: Drawing cobwebs
1. Create a new document in illustrator, set the color mode to RGB mode, and use pixels as the unit of measurement. Set the stroke color to black and set the fill color to none, then select the Ellipse tool in the Toolbox and click anywhere in the canvas, and the Oval dialog box opens. In the dialog box, set the height and width of the ellipse to 150, and then click OK to create a circle. Drag two guides from the ruler (if the ruler is not displayed, select the View | Ruler command or press the shortcut key Ctrl+r) and make the intersection point at the center of the circle. When you click the Direct Selection tool in the toolbox, you can see the 4 anchor points and the center on the circle, which can be used as a reference when moving guides, as shown in Figure 1.

Figure 1
2. Select the Ellipse tool in the Toolbox again, position the mouse pointer exactly at the top of the circle, and hold down the ALT key while you click the position. This will not only eject the Ellipse dialog box to modify the size of the ellipse, but also position the center of the second ellipse exactly at the top anchor point of the first ellipse. Set the height and width of the second ellipse to 50 pixels, and click the OK button. A smaller circle appears above the larger circle, as shown in Figure 2. We will replicate the small circles around the center of the great Circle and use them to remove certain parts of the great circle to obtain a toothed spider web shape.

Figure 2
3. Keep the small circle selected, select the "Rotate Tool" in the toolbox, and then hold down the ALT key while clicking the center of the Great Circle, where the two guides intersect. This sets the center of the Great Circle to the center of rotation and opens the Rotate dialog box at the same time. Enter 36 in the angle box, and we want to rotate and copy the remaining 9 small circles around the large circle. The illustrator automatically calculates and draws the circles at the specified angle. Click the Copy button to get two small circles, keep the 2nd small circle selected, and press Ctrl+d to repeat the rotation and copy the operation until you get all the small circles you need. You can now see the effect as shown in Figure 3. Do not care about the overlap of small circles, in fact this does not affect the subsequent operation.

Figure 3
4. Select menu command "SELECT |" All, select all circles in the canvas, select menu Command Window | Pathfinder, open the Pathfinder panel, and click the Subtract from Shape area button while holding down the ALT key, so you can subtract all the small circles from the large circle. Click the expand button in the Pathfinder panel to turn the resulting compound shape into an object, and you can see that we have the basic shape of a spider web, as shown in Figure 4.

Figure 4
5. To maintain the selected state of the above shape, select menu Command "Object" | " Transform "|" Zoom, open the Scaling dialog box, select the Compare radio button, enter 130 in the scale box, and make sure the scale strokes and effects check box is not selected in the options area, as shown in Figure 5. Click the Copy button to create a new shape that is 130% larger than the original shape. Click the OK button.

Figure 5
6. Press Ctrl+d two times, repeat the change out more shapes, as shown in Figure 6. This will get a total of 4 shapes.

Figure 6
7. Select the shape of the center and select Object | Transform "|" Zoom menu command, select the equal ratio radio button, and then in the Scale box, enter 70 and click the Copy button, and this time we'll copy the original size 70% proportions (we'll scale by 30% for the last time, so here's a reduction of 30%). Again, make sure that the scale strokes and effects check box is not selected in the options area, and then click the Copy button to create a shape that is 30% smaller than the original shape. Click the OK button and press Ctrl+d to get more shapes until you have a total of 6, as shown in Figure 7.

Figure 7
8. Select menu command "View" | " Snap to points, while ensuring that view | Snap To Grid is not selected, otherwise it will prevent you from aligning to the point on the graph. Even if the style is not visible, it is actually there. When Snap to Grid is selected, even if you do not see the grid, it is automatically aligned to the grid. Select the Line tool in the Toolbox, draw a segment with a thickness of 1pt from the center to the outer point, and then draw all segments in the same way, as shown in Figure 8. Draw all the parts of the spider web and press Ctrl+g to combine it into one group.

Part Two: Drawing spiders
9. In the blank area of the canvas, use the "oval tool" to draw two ellipses, used to form the body of the spider, one slightly larger and one smaller. Place them together as shown in Figure 9, select them all, and then click the Add to Shape area button in the Pathfinder panel to add two shapes together, click the Expand button in the panel, and the last fill is black.

Figure 9
10. The following will be a simple design of the spider's back and head. Draw two triangles in the lower part of the spider, align them horizontally with the alignment panel, and then merge the two triangles together using the Pathfinder panel. Fill the new shape with red and drag it to the bottom half of the spider's body, as shown in Figure 10, and then use the alignment panel to align the body of the spider with the triangle horizontally.

Figure 10
11. For the top half of the spider, use the pen tool to draw a shape and fill it with red. Use the mirror tool to copy a symmetric shape, as shown in Figure 11. You can double-click the Mirror tool in the toolbox to open the Mirroring dialog box, and then select the Vertical radio button with an angle of 90 and click the Copy button to get the new shape. After you get the new shape, press the right arrow several times, move it to a suitable location on the right, and then select the two shapes and press Ctrl+g to group them together.

Figure 11
12. Drag the new shape to the top half of the spider's body and select the body of the spider with the shape, and then click the Center Vertically button in the Alignment panel. This will get the graph shown in Figure 12.

Figure 12
13. Use the Ellipse tool to draw two small ellipses and place them as shown in Figure 13. Similarly, use the Pathfinder panel to combine two shapes into one and fill them with black.

Figure 13
14. Use the Oval tool to draw two small circles, as shown in Figure 14, 1. Then select the two circles and click the Subtract from Shape area button in the Pathfinder panel to get the one-month tooth shape. Then mirror the other crescent and fill it with orange. Combine the two-month teeth together, then draw the spider's eyes and move to the top of the spider's body, as shown in the picture.

Figure 14
15. Use the Pen tool to draw the spider's 8-foot shape, the stroke is black, padding is none, the stroke weight set to 8pt, the appropriate move position, get the effect shown in Figure 15. Draw all the shapes that make up the spider together.

Figure 15
16. Drag the spider to the web, rotate and scale it appropriately, and get the final effect as shown in Figure 16. Original link
