Open the AI and create a new document. Enter a filename, set the canvas size, and select the unit as pixels, and the color mode to RGB.
Next, go to Edit > Preferences > General > Keyboard increments set to 1 pixels. Go to the Unit > general selected as pixels.

Prepare text and Layer styles
Step 1
Use the Type tool (T) to write paint me. The font I use is Leckerlione general (packaged micro-disk), 117 pt, select Object > Expand, so that the text into the bottom of the graphic.

Step 2
Next, use the direct selection tool (A) to select more than half of the anchor points and drag them so that the vertices of T are as high as I.

Step 3
Then use the Direct Selection tool (A) to select the right side of T to align it to the left of M.

Step 4
Now, select all the letters with the selection tool and use the Union in the Pathfinder to make all the letters a whole.

Add layer style to text
Step 1
Select the Paint me compound path to set the fill color to black. Next, go to the effect > Sketch > Base highlighting effect (apply the data shown in the following figure). Reduce opacity to 40%. I named this layer as a shallow embossed shape.

Step 2
Copy a shallow embossed shape layer and place the new copy layer underneath the shallow embossed shape (ctrl+b) at the current layer, removing the layer style of the new layer in the skin panel.
Change the fill color to the color (231,219,199), and then go to the effect > Styling > Shading and apply this effect four times (set the value as shown below). I'll name this layer shadow shape.

Step 3
If you enlarge the letters, you will notice that they have jagged edges. To solve this problem, you need to create a clipping mask. Copy, paste (ctrl+f) a shallow embossed shape layer, and remove the layer style from the new layer in the Appearance panel. Now select the new layer and the embossed shape layer to go to the object > Clipping mask > Build (ctrl+7).
Editor's note: If you can't cut. Here's a way to do this, and then proceed to step 3. The new layer is first passed through the object > Path > Offset path (figure below). Then you get two paths. Go to Object > Ungroup (shift+ctrl+g), delete the outermost path, then go to Object > Group (ctrl+g).
You can name a cut group as a shallow emboss. Now there are only 2 layers of shallow relief and shadow shapes on the layer panel.

Step 4
Copy, paste (ctrl+f) The shadow shape, and then place it at the top level. Go to object > Arrange > Put in top layer (shift+ctrl+]). Remove all styles from the new layer, fill it with white, and set blending mode to soft light. So your text is white, and we want it to have a colorful stain that will stand out from the crowd. I'll name this layer as a white shape.

Four, add colorful color spots
Step 1
Create a new layer and use the Pencil tool (N) to draw a path along the text (as shown below). Be as close to the shape of the text as possible, because you want to fill in the font, not on the surrounding background. If necessary, you can make a slight adjustment to the path with the direct selection tool (A).
With ink brush strokes This path, you can in the window > Brush Library > Art Effect > Art effect _ ink to find ink splash brush, select the following figure brush. In the skin panel, change the fill color of this path to Blue (165,220,243). Keep the stroke at 1pt, open the Appearance panel of the path, double-click the Brush window, and modify the size and spacing.

Step 2
Add a new stroke, change the color to Red (240,45,43), and then double-click the Brush window to modify the size and spacing.

Step 3
Add a new stroke, color to orange (241,190,41), this time using the window > Brush gallery > Art Effects > Artistic effect _ Ink Find ink stains brush, and then double-click the Brush window, modify the size and spacing.

Step 4
Add a new stroke, the color is blue (72,163,176), brush changes to ink splash brush, and then double-click the Brush window, modify the size and spacing.

Step 5
Add a new stroke again, change the color to dark green (126,167,76), still use ink splash brush, and then double-click the Brush window, modify the size and spacing.

Step 6
Add a new stroke, change the color to Brown (98,52,31), brush with ink stains, and then double-click the Brush window to modify the size and spacing.

Step 7
Add the last new stroke, change the color to purple (140,98,173), continue using the ink stain brush, and then double-click the Brush window to change the size and spacing, and the purple splash shape to be set very small.

Step 8
Now it's time to use the clipping mask and before that, copy the splash path for later steps. Now copy the White shape (ctrl+c>ctrl+f) so that it is at the top of all layers. Deletes its current layer style.
Select new layer and Path layer to object > clipping mask > Build (ctrl+7).

Step 9
We'll add more splash to the text on the background layer. Because, now the text looks a little strange. Select the splash path you copied before, and then copy a new layer and place it below the text layer. To object > expanded appearance, so that the stroke of the brush can be changed to fill.
(Small note: If you can't perform this line, skip to the next section) at this point, your layers panel should be a large group containing seven groups, each color is a separate group. In each group you can find the path (the stroke is none, padding is none). Open each group, scroll the layers to the bottom, and delete them. The other six groups are also deleted.
When you have finished deleting, select large groups, ungroup (Ctrl+shift+g), cancel 2, 3 times until you can find a separate layer of the splash layer or a separate group.

Step 10
Because these splashes are too dense, we want to remove some splash around the text. In the next picture you can see examples of my cleaning up, you can follow my example or create your own unique design.
The most important thing is to keep the larger splash falling on the edge of the text (as shown in the arrows), otherwise the whole will look weird. You can also freely delete the splash section in the text.

Add high light and shadow to text
Step 1
First, create a new layer on the text. Select the Pen tool (p) or the Pencil tool (N) to draw a path to the left of the letters P,A,N,T,M and E, as shown below (Figure 1).
Use a different tutorial for these six paths and paint them with a black brush that you can paint with a small brush. Set the stroke to 2Pt (Figure 2). Set their blending mode to overlay, opacity 75% (Figure 3).

Step 2
Next, create a new layer on the text and draw the letter (1) as shown in the following figure. Brush the paths with the brushes in step 1 (just change the color to white). Set the stroke to 1–1.5pt as needed (Figure 2), and set their blending mode to overlay (Figure 3).

Step 3
Here is a comparison chart that adds a high light, a shadow before and after. The text looks flat when it is not added, but the text that is added to the highlights/shadows looks shiny and richer.

Six, add the splash around the text
Step 1
Lock the text layer and the high light and shadow layers first. Then select the color spots around all the letters to copy and paste them in front (ctrl+f) (Figure 1). Remain selected to change their fill to a gradient from white to black (Figure 2), set blending mode to color Dodge, and opacity to 50% (Figure 3).

Step 2
Select the color spots around all the letters again to copy and paste them in front (ctrl+f) (Figure 1). Keep them selected and combine them into a single shape on the path finder using the join set. Deletes all layer styles for the newly created compound path and changes the fill color to white.

Step 3
Select the previous step of the white compound path, go to effect > Styling > Projection, apply this effect two times. Then, reduce the opacity to 0%, otherwise we will not be able to see the splash color. We just need to use shadows. Sets the shape blending mode to color depth.

These are the values of the shadow effect. Note: The first one uses black and the other uses white.

Step 4
In the final step we add some glossy splash. Use the Pen tool (P) or the Pencil tool (N) to draw some small paths on the splash (Figure 1).
Use another tutorial for these paths (in the original address: http://design.tutsplus.com, you can also use a fine brush to paint) of the white mixed art brush strokes, the size of 100x3 pixels. According to the splash size set the stroke size between 1–2pt, depending on the gloss you need to reduce opacity between 40-75% (Fig 2).

Finish, give yourself a round of applause.
