Windows XP has a feature that lets you hide all of your desktop icons, as well as the features that are included with the feature, which is also available in Window 98. If you want to achieve this, you can do this:
Click on the "start → settings → folder Options", open the Folder Options box, click the "View" tab, in the "Advanced Settings" to select the "Show Desktop on the Web page when the hidden icon" Complex option, click OK to exit. Next right click on the blank space of the desktop, select Properties, open the Display Properties box, go to the Web page, select the "View Active Desktop by Web page" option, click OK to exit, the desktop icon has been hidden. When you cancel this feature, simply cancel the view Active Desktop as Web page check box.
