As a foreign company employees, in peacetime work mainly use open source software, wherein the mail client is Thunderbird (literal translation of Thunderbird).
Because of the recent need to change jobs, so before leaving a problem: how to put the Thunderbird in the export of mail. There may be a lot of solutions to this problem, but I am here to introduce a kind of, I think the more praise, is the use of a Thunderbird plug-in Importexporttools, I use is 3.1. The steps are as follows:
1 Download and install Importexporttools
Click Tools->add-ons, and then enter Importexporttools in the search box, which is not found. You'll need to click on the Get Add-ons tab and then find and click on the "Browse all Add-ons" link in the bottom right corner of the page.
Then enter Importexporttools in the search box in the open page to add it to the Thunderbird.
2. After the add is complete, restart the Thunderbird
3. Export messages
Right-click on the folder where you want to export the message, and follow the image below to "Importexporttools", "Export all Messages" and "EML format". The Importexporttools plugin supports exporting messages in eml, HTML, or text mode. This plugin will create a new folder (name + date) in the directory you selected to save all the mail, but also generate a list of HTML format, I think this feature is great AH.
4. Import messages
After you export the message, you may need to re-import it in another client, which is easy to implement after you have importexporttools the plugin. Just right-click the folder you want to save, select "Importexporttools", "Import all messages from a directory"-"Just from the directory".
