Import the MS SQL SERVER database into the pit of Oracle
Importing SQL Server databases through SQL Server Management Studio to the pits encountered by the Oracle process
1.SQL Server Management Studio installation directory whitespace issue, result reported ORA-06413: Connection not open
Now the computer is installed 64-bit operating system, SQL Server Management Studio is installed in C:\Program Files (x86) \microsoft SQL Server, so use SQL Server Management Studio
ORA-06413 is reported when connecting to Oracle: Connection not open error
WORKAROUND: The export function of SQL Server Management Studio is also called DTS, so it is possible to copy the EXE and files of DTS into a directory with no spaces, and export them directly with DTSWizard.exe.
DTSWizard.exe and other file source paths for DTS
C:\Program Files (x86) \microsoft SQL Server\110\dts\binn
2.ORACLE data source or host string notation
(DESCRIPTION = (address_list= (address= (protocol=tcp) (host=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) (port=1521))) (Connect_data= (SERVICE_ NAME = xxx.xx)))
IP of the host:oracle server
Database name in service_name:oracle (note is full name)
3. Importing data does not allow null issues to be inserted
"In SQL Server, NULL is NULL in Oracle, so it is not nullable in SQL Server tables, data is" "is not imported in Oracle
Workaround: Adjust whether the table in Oracle is a null attribute or change the value of "in SQL Server table" to another
4. After successful import, in Oracle query table, "table or view does not exist" error
This is because the Oracle table name is in uppercase format by default, and if it is a lowercase table name, the table name is added "" on import and may be queried by select *from "Mytable"
Solutions
When importing, modify the table name of the created table to be in all uppercase form
5. Connect to Oracle 9i ora-01017:invalid Username/password using odp.net and odp.net EF; Logon denied
Odp.net and Odp.net EF support for the lowest Oracle database version of Oracle 10g.2
Solutions
Swapping with a later version of the database
