To be honest, the default fonts in Linux, especially Chinese fonts, are not very nice in most releases. Therefore, installing the font becomes a necessary step after installing Linux on the desktop. But where does it start? Recommended GNU wenquanyi project: http://wqy.sourceforge.net/
In this blog, I will briefly describe the installation steps of 0.7 (Beidou) on dapper Drake for your reference. (Part of the content is from the instructions on installing wenquanyi lattice In Debian of ailantian.ArticleHttp://wqy.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi? Dou_install_deb)
Download images from one of sourceforge.net's image sites. (The author uses Optus net http://optusnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/wqy/wqy-bitmapfont-pcf-0.7.0-4.tar.gz)
Put the downloaded file in the local/OPT directory, and then execute the following commands locally:
# Sudo-S
# Cd/OPT
# Tar zxvf wqy-bitmapfont-pcf-0.7.0-4.tar.gz
# Cd wqy-bitmapfont
# Mkdir-P/usr/share/fonts/bitmap/wenquanyi
# Cp *. PCF/usr/share/fonts/bitmap/wenquanyi
# FC-Cache-F
# Cd/usr/share/fonts/bitmap/wenquanyi
# Mkfontdir
# Vi/etc/X11/Xorg. conf
{Add the following line here: fontpath "/usr/share/fonts/bitmap/wenquanyi "}
# Cd/etc/fonts/CONF. d
# Unlink 30-debconf-no-bitmaps.conf
# Exit
At this time, the wenquanyi bitmap song font can be found in system-> preferences-> font, choose to use this font as you like (I chose wenquanyi in addition to fixed width font ). If no new fonts are displayed on the desktop after confirmation, log out of gnome and log back.
