Improved MeeGo gesture interaction by Nokia

However, after several months of use, some advanced users want to be able to directly reach the main window they want in any program just like Android and iOS; they can immediately close the program, instead of throwing it into the background for further processing.

An active contributor to the Maemo/MeeGo open-source project. Ed Page, a Senior Software Engineer at the National Instrument (NI), proposed a set of improvement solutions several weeks after obtaining the N950. According to the idea of Page, sliding from the screen to the screen is not to return to the place of departure, but to reach the destination based on the starting point of the gesture:

Page does not touch the screen, because Nokia has set this gesture as an advanced feature option, you can use this gesture to directly close the current program. This option is disabled by default, so it will not be difficult for new users.

The idea of Page is consistent with that of some Nokia employees. After version 25-3, the kernel and N950 system images have these features built in, but it is a little troublesome to enable them. The MeeGo Team Software Engineer Felipe Contreras, who publicly claimed that Elop had abandoned MeeGo and had nothing to do with technology, provided implementation methods on his blog.
