In a WDS Bridge or cascade network, how does one set wireless MAC address filtering?

Wireless MAC address filtering is an efficient method to prevent wireless network access. However, when multiple routers are connected to the network, you need to set filtering rules on multiple routers, the setting methods vary slightly in different networking modes. This article describes how to set up wireless MAC address filtering for WDS bridging and wired LAN cascade networking.
Note:The router management interface is quite different. We will introduce the new and old interfaces separately.

Networking mode 1 , WDS Wireless bridging
The main router is a traditional interface (old interface)
In a common WDS network environment, a wireless roaming network with the same signal is generally set up. Whether you set a whitelist or blacklist for wireless MAC addresses, you must set the same list for the primary and secondary routers to ensure that the access permissions of the prohibited or permitted terminals are consistent.
Note that:If you set Whitelist(Only access from a specific wireless terminal is allowed) in addition to the access permission of the terminal, the access permission of the secondary router to the primary router must be considered. After all, for the primary router, the secondary router is a "terminal" that requires access. Otherwise, the WDS bridging will fail.
To sum up, you need MAC Add the IP address to the primary router as follows:
1. Disable the wireless MAC address filtering of the primary router;
2. Set the secondary router to successfully bridge the master router, and copy the MAC address labeled at the bottom of the secondary router;
3. Check the wireless MAC address of the secondary router and other terminals in the wireless host status of the primary router;
Note:When bridging is enabled for some wireless routers, the wireless MAC address may be slightly different from the actual address. Find the wireless MAC address after the secondary router bridging according to the wireless MAC address copied in step 2.
4. Filter the wireless MAC addresses of the primary router, and add the wireless MAC addresses recorded in step 3 one by one.
5. Set the wireless filtering rule to allow the valid MAC addresses in the list to access the wireless network.
6. Enable the wireless MAC address filtering function to complete the settings.
You only need to add the MAC address of the wireless terminal to the secondary Router. For more information, see step 3 of the primary router configuration ~ 6.

The primary router is the cloud router (new) interface.
The wireless MAC address filtering of a vro can only be Whitelist(Only allow access from a specific wireless terminal), in addition to the access permission of the terminal, you also need to consider the access permission of the secondary router to the primary router. After all, for the primary router, the secondary router is a "terminal" that requires access. Otherwise, the WDS bridging will fail.
To sum up, you need MAC Add the IP address to the primary router as follows:
1. Disable the wireless access control of the primary router.
2. Set the secondary router to successfully bridge the master router, and copy the MAC address labeled at the bottom of the secondary router.
3. Enable the wireless device access control of the primary router and add the wireless MAC address of the secondary router or other terminals.
Note:: After the access control function is enabled, the MAC address of the device can be added.
Click Select a device to addThe page prompts the following: Select the wireless MAC address to be added and click OK.
Note:The wireless MAC address of some wireless routers during bridging may be different from the actual wireless MAC address, find the wireless MAC address (closest to the MAC address) after the second-level router bridging according to the wireless MAC address copied in step 2 ).
After setting, click SaveWireless device access control is complete.
In the secondary router, you only need to add the MAC address of the specified wireless terminal.

Networking mode 2 , Wired cascade
LAN-LAN cascade or LAN-WAN cascade networking mode, the master and slave router set wireless MAC address blacklist and whitelist, only need to add the MAC address of the wireless terminal, the list entries added to the primary and secondary routers are the same.
