According to foreign media reports, the internet market research authority Nielsen/NetRatings recently announced the list of top 10 search companies in July 2005.
If you rank by the market share occupied by search companies, Google continues to rank first with 46.2% market share, far ahead of other competitors. Yahoo and Microsoft MSN ranked second and third with 22.5% and 12.6% market share respectively. The US Online (AOL) ranks fourth with 5.4% of the market share, followed by 2.2% of My Way Search market share.
Top 10 global search engines from to based on market share
If the ranking is based on the number of users used, the list of the world's top 10 search engines is slightly different. According to the survey, the average number of times each user used a search engine in July was 38, an increase of June compared with that in 3.86%. The average usage of Google and Yahoo is 27 and 20, respectively, ranking first and second. Followed by Netscape Search and Dogpile.com Search, the average usage of each user is 20 and 15 respectively, while MSN Search ranks fifth with the average usage of each user for 14 times.
