Nowadays, many companies and departments have established their own local area networks. By setting up a shared folder on the computer connected to the local area network, they can share the data in the folder with others, it facilitates file exchange between colleagues. However, all computers on the LAN can see the shared folder through "Network neighbors". If you do not want others to see the shared folder on the LAN, try the following three methods, both of them can make shared folders invisible.
1. Auxiliary method of "$"
When creating a shared folder, if you name the shared name as a string ending with "$", such as "Download $ ", the shared folder will not be seen in "Network neighbors.
2. Net command Method
Click Start, click Run, type net config server/hidden: Yes (1) in the open box, and click OK.
3. Registry Method
Click Start, click Run, type Regedit in the open box, and click OK to open the registry editor window, expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet" in the left pane.
\ Services \ LanmanServer \ Parameters branch. In the right pane, double-click "hidden" and change its value to "1". Click "OK. "Hidden" is a DWORD value. If not, you can create a new one.
To use the invisible shared folder, visit the shared folder in the form of \ computer name \ shared folder name. Of course, do not forget the last "$" character when you type the name of the shared folder with the help of "$.
