In linux, how does one fix the failure of the source/etc/profile terminal ?, Sourceprofile

I originally wanted to configure environment variables. I have read many online and blog posts about changing the/etc/profile. Then, after source/etc/profile, the environment variables can be permanently saved to take effect, however, once the terminal is closed, the environment variable becomes invalid and other terminals cannot use it. On the Internet, it is said to create the. bash_profile file in the current user directory, write environment variables, and then execute the command source ~ /. Bash_profile can make this user take effect permanently. But it is still the same as the previous/etc/profile and becomes invalid.
