In Ubuntu14 system, vnStat does not count traffic bugs. Solution

VnStat is a pleasant task to count server traffic, but recently encountered a bug in the newly installed Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, after installing vnstat with sudo apt-get install vnStat, daily traffic statistics are still unavailable the next day.

Finally, check that the problem occurs on the file permission. See my repair tutorial:

1. Modify the Nic Database permissions

Assume that your network adapter is eth0. Go to the/var/lib/vnstat directory and change the. eth0 file permission.

Chown vnstat: vnstat. eth0-R
Chmod 0640. eth0

II. Restart vnStat

Service vnstat restart
