IP balancing is not a real dual-WAN port Broadband Router

There are many implementation methods for dual-WAN port broadband routers, such as broadband convergence or one or more networks. However, it should be noted that the IP address balancing advertised by some products on the market is not a real dual-WAN port Broadband Router. This is the first thing network administrators need to understand when purchasing a dual-WAN router. This is mainly because IP address balancing is usually difficult to achieve dual-WAN port Broadband Router load balancing function.

Although some routers have two WAN interfaces in appearance, they may adopt IP address balancing policies internally. What is IP balancing? In fact, this is similar to the situation of activity groups. For example, if there are 50 people in a group, we need a team training activity. To improve the training effect, the coach divides the 50 people into two groups, with different coaches responsible for the training. In fact, IP balancing is similar to a simple grouping. He simply divides the IP addresses in the enterprise's internal network into two groups. For example, the dual-WAN port Broadband Router implemented based on Broadband convergence is completed by a SESSION load balancing function in the router. The bandwidth Aggregation Router is designed to send the Internet requests sent by the client to different WAN ports based on the number of idle connections. Data returned from the Internet can also be returned through different WAN ports based on the degree of busy. That is to say, when each client accesses the internet, it can issue dozens or hundreds of sessions simultaneously for data transmission. In this case, when users access the Internet, because these sessions can be allocated to different WAN ports, the client does not have to send sessions one by one on an external line and wait for the response. Instead, sessions can be sent at the same time on two WAN ports, and the two WAN ports return data respectively. In this case, the client achieves the goal of using multiple lines to access the Internet and doubles the bandwidth.

Obviously, IP Server Load balancer cannot achieve this goal. IP Server Load balancer cannot select the communication port based on the port's busy schedule. Instead, it can determine the port for communication based solely on the IP address. In addition, under the IP address balancing mechanism, an IP address can only communicate with the Internet through one WAN port, rather than sending data simultaneously through multiple WAN ports like broadband convergence. For this reason, in terms of performance, the IP address is responsible for balancing much worse than the dual-Wan port with high bandwidth. In the industry, the dual-WAN port Broadband Router Based on IP balancing is usually used as a pseudo dual-WAN port Broadband Router. Therefore, when purchasing a Broadband Router, the Network Administrator considers it a dual-WAN router without seeing two WAN ports. You also need to carefully inquire about its internal implementation mechanism. Generally, the dual-WAN port Broadband Router of IP Server Load balancer cannot achieve the desired effect. In this regard, the network administrator should carefully identify.
