InfoPath and SharePoint (3) Implement linkage drop-down menu in InfoPath

Implementing the linkage drop-down menu in InfoPath is a common requirement. Here, we will demonstrate how to select provinces and cities and how to implement the linkage drop-down menu.

First, add an Area List created in the previous blog and a City column. The type is Single Line of Text.

Next to the drop-down menu created in the previous blog, add another one to display the city. To facilitate differentiation, we changed the two Drop-Down lists to the nouns Province and City.

First, we need to remove repeated items from the province. Right-click the province drop-down list and click Properties:

Select Show only entries with Unique display names.

Select the Drop-Down List that shows the City. here you need to process it so that it only displays the cities of the selected province. Click the button next to Entries:

In the pop-up form, click Filter Data:

In the pop-up window again, Select Title on the left (actually the column indicating the province), Select "is equals to" as the condition, and Select "Select a field or group" on the rightmost side ":

InfoPath has a new form. In this case, select "Main" as the connection, and then select Province as follows:

Filter. This Filter indicates that the value of the Province of the item in the Drop-down of City must be equal to the value of Province in InfoPathForm.
