Install a TV card and watch TV in Ubuntu8.04

Required Software: Tvtime, which can be downloaded and installed immediately

Installation Process: Ubuntu 8.04 has been integrated with the saa7134 series TV card driver, so we do not need to complete it through complicated compilation. All you need to do is adjust the driver parameters.

If your TV card high frequency head model is not in the tuner table, you can select a compatible model, but it cannot be used.

2. Run dmesg | grep tuner to check whether the 713x tuner and card values are available. If yes, the driver has been automatically loaded. If not, I do not know how to solve this problem. But I don't know if it can be used.

3. Modify the startup parameters of the video card driver. By modifying the alsa-base file, you can automatically set the card value and tuner value. That is, sudo gedit/etc/modprobe. d/alsa-base opens the file and changes $ program line_opts to card = x tuner = y, x, and y, respectively, to the values found in the preceding table. Save and exit. Restart.

4. Run dmesg | grep tuner to check whether the system is started based on your modified parameters. If the file is not started based on the modified parameters, check whether the file is correctly modified.

5. Set the Tvtime signal input format to PAL. Set other parameters as needed.

6. Use the Tvtime-interval command to search for a channel. If there is no problem, the channel should be able to search for a signal.

7. Make sure that the video YUY2 is enabled before you use the video. Otherwise, the TVtime disappears as soon as it is started. For more information, see.

8. After completing the above steps, you should be able to watch TV.
