Install and configure xrdp remote login in Ubuntu 12 or later

First, install xrdp:

Apt-Get install xrdp

Install GNOME Desktop:

Apt-Get install gnome-shell

Configure xrdp:

Enter the/etc/xrdp directory

You can modify xrdp. ini and sesman. ini,Startwm. Sh

Generally, you do not need to change xrdp. ini and sesman. ini.

I will list some content of xrdp. ini later.

We need to modify startwm. Sh to use Ubuntu 12.xx or later.

Otherwise, the desktop is blank after logging in.

The modification content is as follows:

Sudo Vim/etc/xrdp/startwm. Sh

Insert a row before the./etc/X11/xsession line as follows:

Echo "gnome-session -- session = gnome-classic">. xsession

Sudo service xrdp restartRestart the xrdp service.

After the xrdp service is started, you can use "Remote Desktop Connection" on Windows to operate the Linux Desktop. For those who prefer Remote Desktop Connection, the biggest advantage is that they no longer need to install the VNC connection program. However, during the first use, you will find that, unlike the Remote Desktop Connection between Windows platforms, you can directly log on to the remote computer. Instead, there is an unfamiliar login window, which displays "sesman-xvnc", "console", "VNC-any 」...... And other six login options. In the past, the xrdp service accepted "Remote Desktop Connection" in port 3389, and then handed over to the vncserver on the host for desktop operation.

Therefore, the "console" mode is used to connect to the local machine. You only need to enter the VNC password to log on. From the IP field in "VNC-any" mode, you can enter not only the IP address of the local machine, but also the localhost, try to specify the IP addresses of other hosts that provide the VNC service. In ubuntu 9.10, most of them use the "console" mode and connect them to the controlled computer. Ubuntu 10.04 seems to have changed the user's logon mode. This "console" mode is often unable to log on. Fortunately, in the default "sesman-xvnc" mode, you can enter the user account and password. Use this mode!

If the operating environment security conditions permit, set the connection to "Remote Desktop Connection" RDP configuration file, and then use the "Storage authentication" function of the "Remote Desktop Connection" program, remember the password in the user's computer. You can log in directly without entering your account or password.

The xrdp configuration file is/etc/xrdp. ini.

If the order of the set content of [xrdp1] and [xrdp2] is reversed, and the sequence numbers 1 and 2 are modified in sequence, the order of the connection options will change accordingly. In the [globals] project, we can see that the preset port 3389 is also set here.

Restart xrdp after setting:
/Etc/init. d/xrdp restart
