I have heard of a new Linux Chinese version, LinXP. It is great to run Windows applications such as IE6.0, Office 2000, and PhotoShop 7 in Linux, in fact, Windows software is mainly because many commonly used application software such as IE and Office can only run in Windows, while Windows often displays blue screens, crashes, and network viruses, which make people cry, if you can run these commonly used applications in Linux, you can enjoy the stable Linux kernel and powerful network security, undoubtedly, there is another new option for the majority of users. (You can avoid a wave of network virus attacks, without worrying about the virus forecast, and then change the system time .)
1. Download
Enter "LinXP" on baidu or google. I will not talk about it. enter www.Linxpsoft.com to download the iso image file of the website version. LinXP30.iso is less than 350 mb. This is the smallest of the Linux versions I have used. The download speed is kb and will be completed in over 10 minutes. then, use the Nero image file burning function to burn a disc.
2. Installation
Restart the computer, set it to start from cdrom, and enter the system. (Please note that there should be MB of memory, but no problem. Now everyone's computer is MB standard.) soon enter the installation interface.
(In fact, the system has the characteristics of LiveCD, which can be run without being installed on a CD. Because the application software needs to be installed, it must be mounted to the hard disk ). First partition, Linux generally has to be divided into one Linux partition and one swap partition. the installation interface is a graphical interface. Select a hard disk. Generally, there is only one hard disk. If you do not select a hard disk, proceed to the next step and use the cfdisk partition, which is a bit like the fdisk partition program in Windows. Because I have reserved the Linux partition, press D to delete Windows partitions that are not used. Create two partitions by N. I will allocate 10 Gb space for Linux partitions and 1 GB swap partitions. Note that after the partition is created, change the partition type to 83 and swap by T.
After the partition is created, write the partition information by W and exit by Q. then format the swap partition, format the Linux partition, and copy the file. Because the system itself is not large, it will soon be finished several minutes. Think about the previous installation of the red hat for more than an hour, and the system prompts you to set the password, this is very important. The current computer needs password protection, and the root (super user) and general user password have been set up to enter the last step. Grub has multiple startup settings, generally, it is installed in Grub MBR (BOOT zone). The kernel is 2.4.6 and 2.6.6. Currently, 2.4.6 is relatively stable, but 2.6.6 supports many new devices. However, stability is very important. I chose 2.4.6, because our system has a WinXP system, we have added the winxp startup partition (/dev/hda1. the Grub system is successfully installed by following the next steps.
3. Enter LinXP
Log out, restart the system, take out the CD, and reboot the system with the hard disk. You can see that there are two operating systems: LinXP and Windows. Choose LinXP to enter the system. the graphic environment is displayed in less than one minute after startup, and the interface is similar to that of Windows, but it is more beautiful. when started, the system enters the SoftNet network service platform. Ie6.0 and Office2000 must be installed on the network service platform. need to access the Internet. select a network on the main interface of SoftNet, and the network configuration interface appears. The system supports Adsl, dial-up Internet access, ISDN, lan, and even GPRS internet access. Because I access the Internet through Adsl, select the Adsl configuration, because the configuration interface is Chinese, Adsl will be deployed soon, and you can choose to enable Adsl again. The Internet access is successful. Disable network configuration, select logon, and log on to the SoftNet main interface.
4. Install IE6.0
Select and install Ie6.0 in SoftNet, and soon enter the IE6.0 installation interface. This is the same as installing Ie6.0 online edition in Windows. Perform the installation step by step. After the installation settings are complete, click Next to display the desktop wizard, after you select all, press Add. The Ie E, (Ie browser), Msimn (outlook, Email software), and Mplayer (Media Player) icons Ie are installed on the desktop.
5. Install Office2000
Select and install Office2000 in SoftNet, and soon enter the Office2000 installation interface. The Office2000 will be installed from the CD. The Wizard prompts that the CD will pop up. After the CD is saved to the genuine Office2000, press it to run automatically or select the installation program from the CD, follow the next step to install Office2000 in Windows. Enter the serial number and proceed step by step to complete the setup, if the Office2000 installation program is displayed again in settings, it is successful.) Click Next to display the desktop wizard. After selecting all the options, click Add. The following icon appears on the desktop: Word, Excel, Access, OutLook, and PowerPoint. The installation is complete.
6. Run the trial
Using Iexplore to access the Internet feels good. flash can also be displayed. It can be accessed from multiple websites and run normally. It is similar to running on Windows and using Office2000. word, Excel, and PowerPoint can also run, but some Word documents can exit successfully. After all, there are some differences in the platform. the next step is to fully switch to Linux. (I don't know if a virus can run in Windows and format the hard disk. I am running under normal user permissions. I think the virus is not so powerful. Which virus can I try to find? haha)
7. LinXP trial
Although this version is not big, it is fully functional and supports running Linux, Windows, and Java software. The graphic interface uses the latest KDE3.2 version with the office Editor (kedit, kwrite ....), xmms is used for multimedia playback (Winamp in Linux). The mplayer supports VCD, DVD rm, wmv, mpg, avi, mp3, and other media (however, the mplayer menu is E-file, a little uncomfortable ). konqurer Linux Web browser kview image browser .... multiple applications.
Ctrl + Space can be used to call out the input method. There are five input methods, including pinyin.
If it is a legend, CS can also run perfectly. (I have never used it)
