Install ArcGIS Server 10.0 Problem Resolution

ArcGIS Server is a comprehensive server-based GIS product that provides advanced GIS services and applications as well as enterprise geo-data management capabilities. In the ArcGIS Server 10.1 version, the SOM/SOC architecture will be canceled and replaced by point-to-point clustering. This approach is designed for cloud computing and provides great convenience for the scalability deployment of ArcGIS server while improving performance.

My system environment:

XP system

VS2010 installed (. NET Framework 4.0 installed)

Set up ArcGIS desktop and engine and AO SDK

Also, ArcGIS Server 10.0 is installed (not properly installed, with performance features: ArcGIS Server Manager link is not available in the ArcGIS Servers menu, ArcGIS Server Manager cannot be opened in the browser)

Here are the basic procedures for my repair installation:

1. Uninstall ArcGIS Server 10.0;

A) uninstalling GIS Services (PS: som and SOC processes need to be closed)

(b) Uninstall Web ADF application;

2. Install XP system IIS, detailed installation steps, you can refer to here; (XP IIS installation package see the article at the bottom of the XP system IIS 5.1 installation package)

3. Normal installation ArcGIS Server (detailed installation instructions see the article at the bottom of the ArcGIS Server 10.0 installation tutorial)

(a) installation of GIS Services;

B GIS server configuration after installation;

c) Manual system configuration (add Arcgissom, local account to Agsadmin, Agsusers Group)

(d) Installing Web application;

e When the installation is complete, use the server to create, publish, and manage GIS services and to develop web apps. (The Publishing Service detail process is shown at the bottom of the article Arcgis Server 10.0 release map)

Arcgis Server10.0 Error Collection:

1. Log in to ArcGIS Server Manager and the "Access IIS Metabase Failed" error appears as follows:

Failed to access the IIS metabase.

Note: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current WEB request. Check the stack trace for more information about the error and where the error occurred in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.Hosting.HostingEnvironmentException: Failed to access the IIS metabase.

The process account that is used to run ASP.net must have read access to the IIS metabase (such as IIS://SERVERNAME/W3SVC). For information about how to modify metabase permissions, see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=267904.

Workaround:

This problem is caused by the fact that I installed the. NET Framework first on my local computer and then loaded IIS;

Start--Program--vs2010--vs TOOLS--SDK command Prompt

Input:

Aspnet_regiis-i, then, click Enter;

Solve the problem successfully! 2.arcgis server10.0, you cannot log on to ArcGIS Server Manager using the Arcgissom account, prompting: You must log on as a member of the Agsadmin group; Reason: Agsadmin account members have login ArcGIS Server Manager permissions; Workaround: Open Local Users and groups; Select Computer, right-click Properties, select Admin, open Computer Management window, select Local Users and Groups, double-click Open Group, such as screenshot:

Add your own administrator account, Arcgissom to Agsadmin Group, add Administrator account, Arcgissom, arcgiswebservices to Agsusers Group; Again use Arcgissom login, found to be successful! 3. Using ArcGIS Server Manager, create a Web application and discover the following issues--"insufficient privilege,the current logged on user does not have admin istrative access to the Web server. Workaround: Add a local account to the Administrators group; Refresh the Server Manager page, and you may receive the following error:

4. Using VS2010 to create a web mapping application, there is a "connect to asp.net Development Server" Error Resolution: Open the URL property page, The target framework for the Web site is changed from 4.0 to 3.5 as shown below:
