The predecessor of astah is Jude, which is familiar to users who have used Jude. Jude is a popular UML modeling software. Since I learned UML from scratch, this article may be helpful to those who want to learn UML and intend to use astah. The following describes your installation experience.
1) download astah (Official Website: http://astah.change-vision.com/en)
Astah has many types: astah * professional; astah * UML; astah * share; astah * community. We recommend that you use astah * UML. (Download the. ZIP file for Linux)
2) configure the Java environment. The Java environment required by astah is jdk1.6. Reference http://astah.change-vision.com/en/feature/astah-on-linux.html
3) decompress the previously downloaded astah package, enter the decompressed directory, and run the jar package as follows:
Java-jar XXX. Jar
(The one with the UML logo)
4) When you run astah, you will be prompted to set the license key. There are 5 entries in total, as shown below:
Set license key
License registeration
Puchase license
Evaluation license
(The last option is missing, but it does not matter)
First, select the license registeration item. To register an account online, you need your own email address. Next, select
Puchase licence. Then, log on to the registered email address and click the link as prompted to obtain a license key (A. xml file ),
Download the. xml file, put it in your installation directory, and click Set license key to add the. xml file.
5) Of course, If you download the trial version, step 4 is not required, but it seems that you only have dozens of days of permission to use it.
PS: There are installation instructions and many UML instances in the decompression package. For more details, I am also learning.
