Install bind on Windows as the DNS server

1. Download bind

2. Installation
Download the zip package and double-click bindinstall.exe to install it. The default installation path is c: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS. Bind registers itself as a service under Win32. The service name is isc bind,ProgramThe name is named.exe. A private account is required to start the service. The default name is named. The password is customized by the installer. After you click Install, the program will be installed in c: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS. At this time, the bind service cannot be started, and an error code 1067 will be reported, which must be configured first.

3. Configuration
Run Command Line cmd, CD to c: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS \ binand run rndc-confgen.exe-A. rndc is automatically generated under c: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS \ etc. key. This rndc. the key is in BIND 9. the new feature of Version X is about DNS update and encryption during update. It has little to do with our individual users, but is based on compatibility. Next, create named. conf under c: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS \ etc \, which is the BIND configuration file. The file content is as follows:

Include "C: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS \ etc \ rndc. Key ";

File "C: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS \ etc \ named. Root ";

An include line mainly refers to rndc. key is included, Zone ". "One row sets the root node. We create our own DNS server. As long as this is enough, other parameters can be searched and understood on the Internet by ourselves. The named. root file is also stored in the etc directory. If drive C is in NTFS format, remember to define full control of the directory c: \ windows \ system32 \ DNS \ etc for the named user who starts bind. Otherwise, the error 1067 will still be reported (if BIND is not started as a service, it will be started directly in cmd, and permissions do not need to be allowed, because the current user's permissions are used directly)

4. Start

Start the isc bind service from "Computer Management --" service.

 

5. Test

Set the DNS of any machine on the network to the IP address of the machine where BIND is installed. Ping www.google.com. If yes, congratulations, you have done it.
