Install CentOS on a USB flash drive

3, U disk (capacity according to the iso file size selection, CentOS-6.3-i386-minimal only 293M it with 4g u disk enough) steps are as follows:

1. Start UltraISO, "file"-"open"-select CentOS-6.3-i386-bin-DVD.iso (also available CentOS-6.3-i386-minimal) to delete the Packages folder (containing a large number of Packages) in it.

2. "Start" -- "Write hard disk image"

3. "Write mode" according to the actual situation, different motherboard choose different, Here select "USB-HDD +", click format, and then click write, pay attention to the hard drive must choose U disk, otherwise the consequences are very serious!

4. Copy the CentOS-6.3-i386-minimal.iso to the u disk root directory

5. Set BIOS. The first boot mode is USB flash drive and Advanced --- Mass storage controller configuration --- SATA mode is set to compatibility. Use this USB flash drive to start the computer that needs to install CentOS.

6. the Installation process is the same as the Installation process on a DVD. When "Installation Method" is displayed, select "Hard drive" and then select the USB flash disk, which may vary depending on the actual situation, here is "/dev/sdb4"
