The installation of CentOS in Windows 7 is idle recently, so I want to learn about Linux during this time. First, you must have a Linux environment. Therefore, you have installed dual systems on your computer. Most of the company's Linux systems are installed with CentOS, so I also chose this version. Www.2cto.com 1. download CentOS installation disk my computer is 32-bit, so download i386 version of The CentOS-6.2-i386-bin-DVD.iso Note: should download the hard disk installation version, instead of liveCD version liveCD (optical disk Version) is a version that can be run directly on the CD. After running, you can choose to install it on the hard disk.
Bin-DVD (hard disk installation version) is a pure installation version, which is generally recommended because many software packages need to be downloaded from the network during LiveCD installation, which will be very slow. Decompress the image file, extract the isolinux and images folders, and copy them to the root directory of drive C and the disk where the image file is stored. Note: The disk that stores the image file must be partitioned in FAT32 format (because Grub does not recognize ntfs ). 2. Partition disk download DiskTool partition assistant this tool is mainly used for hard disk partitioning. It is not necessary to use this tool as long as it can be partitioned. Start DiskTool, select one of your disks, and click "create partition" to divide a disk space as a CentOS hard disk. Click "Submit" on the toolbar to restart the computer, make it take effect. At www.2cto.com, the disk still belongs to Windows, so we need to separate it from Windows. Right-click your computer and choose manage> storage> disk management. Right-click the disk you just created and choose delete volume. 3. After installing multiple systems in the multi-system startup settings, it will be troublesome to start. Therefore, we need to use tools to manage the startup of multiple systems. Here we recommend EasyBCD. EasyBCD is a multi-system startup management tool that removes the tedious and lengthy command of BCDEdit. Start EasyBCD, click Add new entry-> NeoGrub, and write the configuration. After clicking the "Configure" button, add the following lines to the displayed file: # name displayed at startup. You can customize the title CentOS # system command, enter the root (hd0, 0) of the hard drive (disk C) with the subscript 0 # Set the file path kernel (hd0, 0)/isolinux/vmlinuzinitrd (hd0, 0) /isolinux/initrd. img 4. install and restart the computer, select NeoGrub Bootloader, enter the CentOS installation, select the language, select the Installation File Source => hard drive, select the partition where the CentOS image is located, and install it all the way as prompted. A disk partition is involved during installation. We recommend that you manually partition it. Here, we will explain several Linux directories: The boot directory is the boot file location, set to 100 M, and the/root directory is the system file location. The size depends on CentOS, swap is virtual memory, generally, it is set to twice the memory size. root www.2cto.com stores the relevant files of the root user. home Stores the relevant files of ordinary users. var stores frequently-changed files. default installation directory of usr software (similar to windows's program) to store files with Common commands in bin, you must have certain permissions to use the command "mnt". By default, the command "mnt" is mounted to the "etc" directory of the optical drive and the software drive to store configuration-related files. 5. after CentOS is installed on the network, you may not be able to connect to the Internet. You need to set up IP addresses, gateways, and so on. The methods are as follows: (1) log on to www.2cto.com using the root account and run the setup command, then restart/etc/rc after the configuration is complete in network configuration. d/init. d/network restart (2) temporary modification Ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.141ifconfig eth0 network xxxxxxx Subnet Mask (3) directly modify the file/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0onboot = yes (No = Disable auto start) bootproto = static (static, specify a specific configuration)/dhcp (dynamic, automatically assigned IP addresses, suitable for LAN conflict prevention) IPADDR = 192.168.1.141NETMASK = 255.255.255.0GATEWAY = 192.168.0.1 and then restart the network adapter (if Permanent modification is involved, note: All devices in Linux are files and can be operated directly (so it is important to learn to view the Linux Source Code) (4) modify the operating interface to enter the operating system, click the network connection icon on the right of the screen to set up.
