Install Dynamics AX R2 AIF for Web services on IIS

1. Why use the Web Services component on IIS?

If you are using HTTP Adapter in Dynamics AX service, you will have to install the Web Services component on IIS . HTTP adapter generates a Web Service in IIS.

2. Install the Web Services component on IIS

Here's how to install the Web Services component on IIS . On the server, start the AX Setup program, select Add or modify components , check the Web service on IIS , and then install the next step.

Once installed, a site is added to the system Administration > Services and Application Integration Framework > Web site in Microsoft Dynamics AX.

And, under the default site for IIS on the server, add an app named MicrosoftDynamicsAXAif60 .

The path to the app is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics Ax\60\aifwebservices\, with the URL http://host:port/ microsoftdynamicsaxaif60/.

Later, the Web service for AX will be installed here under the path and URL.

3, Repair MicrosoftDynamicsAXAif60

If you are enabling the AIF service for HTTP adapter, you receive the following information:

"The deployment Web site was wasn't found for port:xxxx"

3.1, then there are two possibilities:

• Your current server does not have the Web Services component installed on IIS . In this case, you can install it by referring to the installation steps above.
• If you run the AX installer and you see that the service has already been installed, it may be caused by the installation being overwritten. When you do not install the backup data for the Web Services component on IIS and restore to a server that already has the Web Service component installed on IIS, the Web Service component on IIS is installed. But the situation is not available.

3.2, the following is the repair steps:

Install the Web Services component on IIS . If it has already been installed, you can skip it.

Confirm that the MicrosoftDynamicsAXAif60 app has been established in the default site for IIS . By default setup is established, and the restore does not cause the app to be deleted.

Confirm the System Management > Services and Application Integration Framework > website in Ax, and add the MicrosoftDynamicsAXAif60 site. If you do not have backup data for the Web Service component on IIS installed, you will be removed when you restore to a server that already has Web service components on IIS installed MicrosoftDynamicsAXAif60 site. If you don't have the site, add it manually. Click the New button, enter a name , virtual path (such as "\\HostName\MicrosoftDynamicsAXAif60"),URL("http ://hostname:port/microsoftdynamicsaxaif60 "). Then click Verify and if the prompt is successful, close the window.

If you are still reporting permission errors when you enable the AIF service for HTTP adapter, check the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics ax\60\aifwebservices\ path permissions.

You need to make sure that the folder has the following three permissions:

• Microsoft Dynamics AX Web Service Administrators
• Iis_iusrs
• NETWORK SERVICE

Folder Sharing permissions:

• Microsoft Dynamics AX Web Service Administrators
• Authenticated Users
• NETWORK SERVICE
