About the files after installation

During the installation process, both client and server files will be installed. you should understand the differences between the two files:

The client program files are SWF and HTML files. When developing an application, you can save the client files anywhere.

Server files include script files (ASC files), stream files (such as FLV files), and shared object files (FSO files), which must be placed on the server computer.

When developing a program, you must register the application directory with your application name under the applications directory. for example, if your program is called my_app, you should create a subdirectory named my_app in the applications directory. then put all files related to my_app in this subdirectory (.. /application/myapp. you can modify the content of the FMS. ini changes the directory of your application.

In development, you can save the client file and the server program file as one. when deploying an application on a public server, you should separate the client and server files. if you use a web server, your SWF and HTML files should be accessible through the Web server. the ASC files, audio/video FLV files, FSO files, and ActionScript FLA resource files on your server cannot be accessed by browsing your site.

Files in the Windows Installation Directory

The Flash Media Server Directory contains the following items:

The FMSMaster.exe file is a server application.

The FMSAdmin.exe file is the server management controller. When the Administrator uses the console to link to the server, it actually links to this service, which provides the server management service.

The tools directory contains the BAT file for starting and stopping servers.

The js32.dll file contains the server-side media ActionScript engine.

Tcsrvmsg. dll, xmlparse. dll, and xmltok. dll files are additional components of the server.

The fms. ini file and XML wizard file in the conf directory.

The applications directory is used to create the directory of the registered application. During the installation process, the paths in the applications directory uninstall the secrets dir label of the Vhost. xml file.

The fms2_lele.swf file can be used to open the Flash Media Server console.

The scriptlib directory contains the ASC file required by the web service. During installation, the path of the scriptlib directory is written in the ScriptLibPath label of the Application. xml file.

When the server is started, the logs directory is created to save various records.

The FMSCore.exe file is an executable file. It is an FMS application. The configuration method of the server determines how many programs can be run by a single FMSCore. The execution and flow of all scripts are happening here.

FMSEdge.exe monitors the connection to the Flash Media Server and passes the connection to an FMSCore process. Multiple FMSEdge instances can run in the system.

The documentation directory contains documents in the PDF Format of Flash Media Server.

The certs directory is a trusted certificate issued by an authority.

The licenses directory stores the LIC file (the UDF signature license ).

The modules file is a module stored in a separate library for the Flash Meida Server to load and operate.

The Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange algorithm uses the dh1024.pem and 512. pem files for SSL connections.

Various DLL files are plug-ins required by FMS.

The files installed in Linux are not explained.

Install edge servers

Before the launch of this FMS version, the customer always directly links to the computer where the application is running. these applications run locally because they are executed on the same computer that the client is connected. This release of Flash Media Server introduces the concept of Remote Application Execution. Flash Media Server can now run applications locally as the source Server or remotely run applications as edge servers. Edge servers are not different types of Flash Media Servers. They are configured to run applications remotely. For more information about Edge Server Installation, see "create source and proxy servers" in the Flash Media Server Edge Server ".
