Install Active Directory in Windows server Server Core

In Windows Sever 2012, we are free to switch the Server core and GUI graphics interface, and we believe that there will be more services in the future we will run in the Server Core. The following article describes the configuration of the network in Server Core to modify the computer name, and finally create a domain. Www.2cto.com

1. Configure the Network

? Log in to Server Core and enter sconfig at the command prompt

? Select 8> Network Settings in Sconfig.

? Select the network adapter number that you want to modify, here is 10

? Follow the wizard to set the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway in turn.

2. Modify Computer Name

? Go to Sconfig, select 2> computer name

? Enter a new computer name, confirm, and then restart the computer.

3. Configuring Active Directory

Dcpromo.exe was discarded from Windows Server 2012, but you can use Windows PowerShell to install AD DS.

? Enter PowerShell at the command prompt and go to Windows PowerShell.

? Perform the role installation with the following command.

Install-windowsfeature-name Ad-domain-services-includemanagementtools

? After the installation is complete, test the prerequisites for installing the new Active Directory forest.

? Run Test-addsforestinstallation in PowerShell.

? Input DomainName:contoso.com

? Input Safemodeadministratorpasswor

? Confirm, Test.

? After completing the test, use Windows PowerShell to install the New forest root domain, where we need to create a contoso.com root domain.

? Running Install-addsforest–domainname "contoso.com" in PowerShell, the DNS server is installed by default when you run Install-addsforest.

? Type the DSRM password, start installing the root domain, and restart the server automatically after completion.
