Install linux on a USB flash drive

As an IT cainiao, using PE to maintain the system can no longer meet my needs. It is too common to put windows into a USB flash drive, so I can only turn to Linux.

I searched for the tutorials from the Internet, but they were all Tutorials that fell short of my teeth N years ago. If you don't want to talk about anything else, it will make people vomit.

The times are evolving and technologies are advancing. In fact, simple methods have long been available. Although there are some online, they are not comprehensive and cause many problems. Now, this dish is summarized.

Preparations:

|
Unetbootin: a USB flash drive written to Linux.

|
Bootice: The bootstrap setting tool.

| Your own Linux System ISO image.

| Format the USB flash drive to FAT32 format. Right-click the USB flash drive and choose format. No tools are required.

Step 1: Use unetbootin to write the Linux System ISO image to the USB flash disk.

Double-click to start unetbootin. The following page is displayed.

Click OK after the selection. The following page appears, which can be completed in about 30 seconds.

After completing the above steps, write the Linux system into the USB flash drive.

Why is unetbootin used for writing? Does ultraiso work? The reason is that writing the system into a USB flash drive cannot be started. You also need to use syslinux for guidance. syslinux is actually a very small Linux system and only serves as a boot function. Unetbootin comes with syslinux. As you can see, this removes the hassle of manual installation. ultraiso does not have this function.

Step 2: Use bootice to set the USB flash drive boot.

Start bootice. Select a USB flash drive. Do not select a hard disk .... Click "Master Boot Record ".

On the displayed page, configure the Master Boot Mode as ultraisousb-zip +.

After the settings are complete, turn off the interface and return to the "partition guide record" on the main interface ".

Check whether the Partition Boot Record is syslinux. If not, configure it to syslinux. This step is normal. For the sake of insurance, it is better to see ....

Return to the main page and click "partition management ".

Check whether the USB flash drive is set to an active partition. If there is a marked active partition, click "Activate. If it is not set to an active partition, "Start from USB..." will be displayed infinitely when the computer starts from the USB flash disk ......"

So far, the USB flash drive can be started successfully.

Plug in the USB flash drive and set the computer to start from USB.

In addition, if the startup fails due to unsupported Linux drivers and there is no solution, you can only change the system.

Since this article is called a solution, let's talk a little more and introduce another solution.

Introduction:

There is a popular mobile Linux operating system puppy in China, which supports Chinese characters, beautiful interfaces, and supports multimedia, such as QQ and movies. More importantly, it is highly compatible.

Production tool:

It is very easy to create a USB flash drive. You only need the following two tools.

Puppy liveusb: a tool that writes the ISO image of the puppy system to a USB flash drive. This tool can only be written to the puppy system in one click. The general system should use the method described above.

Custom-puppy.iso: puppy Chinese customized ISO image.

Note:

| Anti-virus software must be disabled during the write process. If the anti-virus software is intercepted, it will be uncomfortable .... The software comes from the official website. It is non-toxic and harmless and can be safely used.

|
If the boot fails, find the "isolinux. cfg" file in the USB flash disk and change "pmedia = cd" to "pmedia = usbflash.

| When writing data using puppyliveusb, we recommend that you set the USB flash drive startup mode to HDD.
