Install MariaDB on CentOS 6.5

1. software environment: CentOS 6.5x64
MariaDB 5.5.36

2. Installation Process 1) Create the MariaDB. repo file in the/etc/yum. repos. d/directory. The content is as follows:

3. Start MariaDB

# /etc/init.d/mysqld startInitializing MySQL database:  WARNING: The host 'Cloud-Q2' could not be looked up with resolveip.This probably means that your libc libraries are not 100 % compatiblewith this binary MySQL version. 4. Set a password for MariaDB

# /usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'adminadmin'

Log onto MariaDB

MySQL [(none)]> use mysql;MySQL [mysql]> update user set host='%' where user='root' and host='127.0.0.1';MySQL [mysql]> grant all privileges on *.* to 'root'@'%' identified by 'adminadmin' with grant option;MySQL [mysql]> flush privileges;

5. Allow the firewall to pass port 3306

# vi /etc/sysconfig/iptables

Add the following content:

-A INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 3306 -j ACCEPT

Save and exit editing
Restart the Firewall Service

# service iptables restart

Remote Connection check. Everything is OK!
