- X Windows System
The following steps are required for successful installation:
- Download Software
- Decompress the file
- Modify the Hosts file
- Set Kernel Parameters
- Set installation
- Start Installation
- Installation Complete

Extract
Decompress the file
unzip linux.x64_11gR2_database_1of2.zipunzip linux.x64_11gR2_database_2of2.zip
You should now have a separate directory named "database" containing the installation file.
Hosts file
The "/etc/hosts" file must be the full name of the server.
<IP-address> <fully-qualified-machine-name> <machine-name>
Set Kernel Parameters
The following minimum parameter settings are recommended for oracle.

The current value can be tested using the following command.
/sbin/sysctl -a | grep <param-name>
In the/Etc/sysctl. conf"File to add or modify the following lines.

Run the following command to change the current Kernel Parameter.
/sbin/sysctl -p
In"/Etc/security/limits. conf.

If"/Etc/pam. d/login"FileDoes not exist. Add the following lines
session required pam_limits.so
Start the firewall management dialog box ("system> Management"> firewall ). Click the "Disable" button, followed by the button on the application toolbar, and then close the dialog box.
Disable SELinux editing/Etc/selinux/configFile, and make sure that the SELinux flag is set as follows.
SELINUX=disabled
In addition, you can use the GUI tool (Application> system Settings> Security Level ). Click the SELinux tab and disable this feature.After SELinux is disabled, the server must be restarted.Change effective.
