Since PPA is not available, we must download and install it on Adobe's official FTP. the following method applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit systems:
Wget ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/unix/9.x/9.5.5/enu/AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb
Sudo apt-get install gdebi
Sudo gdebi AdbeRdr9.5.5-1_i386linux_enu.deb
