Install the Seamonkey browser In Debian-the Linux Release Technology-Debian information. See the following for details. I found that Debian does not have the Seamonkey browser, which is available in Ubuntu but I want to install it. What should I do? At the beginning, I downloaded the Code directly from the Seamonkey official website. There was no way to run the binary program, but the source code could not be compiled. It was really annoying and there was no way at last, run the deb package of Seamonkey in Ubuntu, but the version of some dependent packages on Debian is too low, but the basic functions are not affected.
General installation process:
1. Download the deb package of Seamonkey in Ubuntu
Write down the dependency of the prompt, which will be used later.
3. Resolve Dependencies
These dependencies have no impact on the basic use of Seamonkey. To avoid the impact on the upgrade and update of other software packages in the Debian system, we can manually modify the dependency of Seamonkey.
Open this file,/var/lib/dpkg/status, and search for the seamonkey-browser location, change the version number of the dependent package after the corresponding Depends according to the dependency relationship previously noted to a smaller value (I .e., change the version number of the package after> = to a smaller value ).
In fact, if other software packages do not exist in debian, you can also consider this, but it is not recommended.
