Install SMPlayer 14.9 using the PPA in Ubuntu
Smplayer is a popular video player in Linux. It is the front-end of MPlayer and supports video, DVD, and VCD playback. It has some advanced functions, for example, mplayer filters and settings for tracking all playback files are supported.
The latest version of SMPlayer is 14.9, with BUG fixes that support MPV and YouTube.
The installation is very convenient because PPA supports Ubuntu 15.04, 14.10, 14.04, 12.04, and derivative systems. Open the terminal and run the following command:
Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: rvm/smplayer
Sudo apt-get update
Sudo apt-get install smplayer
Run the following command to uninstall smplayer:
Sudo apt-get remove smplayer
