Come and try SuSE
Linux
The powerful 3D desktop, its application on the desktop, is the best in Linux I have ever used, instead of using Windows, it is better to switch to Linux Through settings, You can between 2D and 3D Desktop
Switch, commented by some netizens, and Suse
Why does Linux need vista? Many software or software packages are supported. It is very suitable for those who used Windows and want to switch to Linux now, Suse
This allows you to transition from a Windows platform to a Linux platform without causing great pain. You can use the system software as soon as you install the system software. You only need to enter your account and password.
Code, isn't that attractive? A powerful desktop, a rich package, is the first image it gave me.

Many netizens do not have a burning device, and the memory of virtual machines is not enough. To open a virtual machine, XP is installed on a machine with only MB of memory. The following method can be used to conveniently install SuSE
Linux, so that you have a real Linux system, let it circle your Linux dream.

1. Clear the hard disk and install SuSE
Linux space, although SuSE Linux can provide you with Space

But please do not expect how intelligent it can be. It will probably tell you that hard disk space cannot be organized. We recommend that you delete

In addition to the window space, this is unacceptable for users who want to install multiple systems.

Use the partition tool to create Linux partitions. You can also select the EXPERT mode during installation and perform hard disk partitioning as needed.

2. Download necessary installation files

Go to the website and click Download To Go To The download page. Select a download item based on your needs.

Save the downloaded CD image to a directory, such as D:/Suse.

Provide some URL reference: SuSE
In Linux 10.3:

X86:

The first disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-i386-CD1.iso

Second disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-i386-CD2.iso

The third disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-i386-CD3.iso

Fourth disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-i386-CD4.iso

Fifth disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-i386-CD5.iso

X86-64:

The first disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-x86_64-CD1.iso

Second disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-x86_64-CD2.iso

The third disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-x86_64-CD3.iso

Fourth disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-x86_64-CD4.iso

Fifth disc: http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.3-Alpha2/iso/cd/openSUSE-10.3-Alpha2-x86_64-CD5.iso

Editor's note:

1) Installation File Download location:

2) Take RedHat as4 installation as an example. The partition format of the disk where the installation file is located should be FAT32, not NTF. Otherwise, the hard disk installation will report an error that does not contain the disc image.

B. Download the corresponding startup software.

Download grub for DOS software.

Package name: grub4dos

Decompress grub for DOS to the directory of drive C, such as C:/grub.

3. File Extraction

Extract the grldr file from the grub for DOS file you downloaded and report that the file exists in the C:/root directory.

From sledxxxxxxx. extract the Linux and initrd files (/boot/i386/loader) from ISO and put them in the root directory of the hard disk partition where your CD image is located. For example, all your CD images are saved in D:/Suse.
Directory, then put the two files under the D:/directory (Note: Be sure to put them in the root directory

Or find/Linux will report no file), this is SuSE
The two files required for path recognition.

4. Edit the boot. ini file.

Method: (XP system) My computer-properties-advanced-start and fault recovery-Edit

Add C:/grldr = "Grub" to the last line of the file"

Suggestion: it is best to change the start and stop time, for example, 5 seconds.

Save and exit

At this time, your preparation is complete. Restart the computer

5. At this time, the computer will enter a menu selection interface, select grub, and then select command mode (command line mode)

Enter the command: Find/Linux

In this case, a result is obtained, for example, (hd0, 4). The result varies with the number of partitions and devices.

Hd0 indicates the first hard disk, and the second number indicates the partition. (hd0, 0) to (hd0, 3) indicates the primary partition, therefore, logical partitions can only be counted from (hd0, 4) to the next.

Run the command: kernel (hd0, 4)/Linux VGA = 791.

VGA = 791 represents the resolution of 1024*768*16 colors.

Enter the command: initrd (hd0, 4)/initrd

Enter the command: boot

The system starts the installation. On the screen, the system prompts you that the installation disk cannot be found. Click Back, and select the keyboard and language. Select "Install from hard disk.

Enter the location of the CD image, select the partition where the CD image is located, and enter the path of the CD image (the English language is not good and you can try it one by one without the help of others, of course it takes some time ).

At this time, you can see the graphic installation interface. Of course, you can select Chinese (if you are a little dizzy with English). For friends who are not familiar with Linux, you can install the image by default, after installation, you can install the software package through the Program Installation Tool on the interface.

Disclaimer: to complete this tutorial, you must have certain system installation capabilities. This tutorial is not suitable for anyone who knows nothing about Linux installation and partitions, please complete it with the guidance of experienced friends. for multi-system installation, Windows and Linux installation are at risk.

I. The problem lies in Partition
Although you have the ability to manually partition under DOS or use related tools, this does not prove that you can perform partition operations under Linx. one error. It is possible for another operating system you have installed.
It is a fatal error. For Linux installation, you need at least two partitions,/and swap. We recommend that you separate one/home partition, which is sufficient for daily desktop applications. You need to correctly set the partition
Mount point. //,/Home file system. You can select ext3 or reiserfs.

2. The problem lies in the installation of power outages during power outages. If you are lucky for a second, all your precious data may become history. after the installation, all the operating systems can run. Remember: If you operate in a Linux environment at this time, a power failure may cause two or more systems to fail.
